How we work
't Startblok in Honselersdijk is a warm, Catholic primary school where every child is welcome and valued for who they are. From the core values engage, grow and flourish, learning at this school is made meaningful and challenging. It's not about how clever a child is, but about the way a child is clever.
The school works with thematic education in which subjects are offered in coherence. Children learn in their own way and at their own level, supported by tools such as Snappet and challenged via multiple intelligences. Besides a solid foundation in language and maths, there is a lot of attention for social skills, philosophising and movement. As a recognised Google Reference School, future-oriented digital education also forms an important part of daily practice.
As a world school, pupils get English lessons from group 1 and discover the world around them with a broad view. Thanks to partnerships with, among others, the library and childcare, 't Startblok offers a rich learning environment in which children are coached to grow with courage and enjoyment.
