How we work
The Prins Willem-Alexanderschool is a Protestant-Christian primary school in 's-Gravenzande, where around four hundred children learn and play together every day. The modern building forms a wide school together with childcare provider Okidoki, right in the middle of the Westland neighbourhood. Enjoyment and safety come first: every child may be there and develop at their own pace.
The school works from five core values that determine the daily approach: enjoyment, safety, respect, quality and ownership. From the idea that children flourish best in an environment where mutual respect and enjoyment are the driving force, the team builds a climate in which every child feels seen and valued.
Ownership is a common thread: pupils get room to take responsibility for their own learning process, matching the slogan Enjoyment as the basis, growth as the goal. Safety and quality form the foundation on which that growth can take place, so children set out on their next step with confidence.
The school is part of the PCPO Westland foundation, a group of fifteen schools in Westland and Midden-Delfland. Parents, pupils and team together carry the responsibility for the wellbeing and development of the children, resulting in an engaged atmosphere in which school and family cooperate closely.
