How we work
The Joannesschool is a WSKO primary school that focuses on the broad development of children, so they discover their own identity and build self-confidence. The school believes children only truly flourish in a safe and positive school climate, in which learning together and ownership of one's own learning process are central.
At the Joannesschool, education revolves around four core values: development-focused, enjoyment, together and ownership. The school strives for broad development of children, in which not only knowledge and skills count, but also discovering one's own identity and building self-confidence.
A safe and positive school climate forms the basis on which this is built: the school assumes children can only develop once they feel comfortable and safe. From that basis, learning happens together, and pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for their own development, which increases involvement and motivation.
As part of the WSKO school group, the Joannesschool shares knowledge and experience with other schools in the region. Parental involvement, in all kinds of forms, is a high priority for us.
