How we work
Christian education on a Reformed foundation for around 150 pupils from Westland, with a young and committed team.
The Eben-Haëzer school is a Reformed primary school where the Bible is the starting point, the source and the guide for education. Every day there is room for Bible stories, prayer and singing psalms and hymns, and the teaching is built on the Three Forms of Unity. The school has around 150 pupils and aims to raise and teach children to become independent individuals who want to serve God according to His Word, to His honour and for the blessing of others.
The education focuses on uninterrupted development over eight years, with attention for each child's sensory, emotional, intellectual and creative development: where needed, pupils receive extra or simplified material, matched to their level. The school is a certified Peaceful School: children learn to take responsibility themselves for the atmosphere in the group and to resolve conflicts together, with attention for social safety and democratic decision-making.
Since August 2016 the school has been located in a modern, almost energy-neutral building on the Albert Klingstraat, with a pleasant indoor climate and a fresh, tidy appearance. The building is shared with childcare provider Okidoki, with whom the school works closely for a smooth transition from childcare to school. Family, church and school work together at the Eben-Haëzer school: the teachers are themselves members of a Protestant Christian church and carry the school's identity with them.
