How we work
WSKO primary school De Nieuwe Weg in Poeldijk is a school where every child is seen and may be and become themselves. The school works on independent, self-reliant children who get to know themselves and are open to others. As a Google Reference School, the school uses technology to enrich education, in an active, engaged atmosphere.
De Nieuwe Weg wants to educate children into active citizens who can hold their own in the world of tomorrow and also make a positive contribution to it. The school offers enough basic knowledge and skills to become independent and self-reliant, in a learning environment where children get to know themselves and learn to be open to others. With the development De Expeditie, the school is working towards a joint education concept with childcare provider Simba and ISW Irenestraat, so children can grow up from a young age in a continuous line and a familiar environment. The school invests in extra support with a quality coordinator, two specialists in social-emotional development, a giftedness specialist, a language-reading specialist and a DIM specialist. The schoolyard offers ample room for movement and play, visible in initiatives such as Beweeg Wijs. The school profiles itself as a Google Reference School and uses modern technology as a natural part of education, alongside a pleasant, social atmosphere in which children feel at home.
