How we work

De Hoeksteen is a Christian primary school in Honselersdijk. A small, modern and dynamic school where children are seen and where personal attention is central.

With about 200 pupils spread over eight classes, our teachers know the children well. This allows them to guide the children personally and in a focused way in their development. We give children room for their own development, talents and identity within clear frameworks and structure, so that they feel well prepared for what lies ahead.

Every child develops at their own level. We think it is important that children discover what they are good at, gain confidence in themselves and are proud of their own growth.

Parental involvement, planning, trust & safety, IPC, ownership, Snappet and collaboration together form the seven puzzle pieces of De Hoeksteen. These puzzle pieces tell what De Hoeksteen stands for. Together they create an environment in which children enjoy learning, learn to take responsibility and can develop into independent and engaged pupils.

De Hoeksteen is part of PCPO Westland. This allows us to draw on shared expertise, knowledge and support. At the same time we keep our own recognisable identity, atmosphere and small scale.

In 2027 De Hoeksteen will move to a new school building; the house of the neighbourhood. A great new step for our school! The building will have a contemporary interior and will be surrounded by a newly designed playground with plenty of opportunities to play, discover and move.

The new building will also house the library, Vitis and the playgroup / after-school care (Kwest). This creates a lovely environment in which children can play, learn and grow from an early age.
