How we work
Avonturier is a location of OBS De Driekleur in 's-Gravenzande, where children should feel at home. The school builds education around investigating, undertaking and developing, with thematic and coherent learning in which language, maths, music, culture and movement come together. There is attention for honest communication and celebrating everyone's own qualities.
Avonturier is one of the three locations of OBS De Driekleur, alongside Dalton and Montessori, each with its own pedagogical approach within the same public school. Avonturier focuses on a solid foundation in language and maths, combined with thematic education in which music, culture and dance get a fixed place.
The school works from three core concepts: investigating, undertaking and developing. Children learn not only from books but also by doing things themselves, for example during outdoor lessons, excursions and practical assignments. The website and news items show pupils actively engaged outside: from climbing on the schoolyard to planting together in the vegetable garden and looking for insects in nature.
