De Aventurijn on Tuindersweg in Maasdijk is an informal partnership school between Catholic and public education, established on 1 September 2014 from a merger of two schools. The distinctive name, chosen through a competition among pupils, refers to the aventurine gemstone, which stands for calm, trust and making dreams come true.
Since the 2015-2016 school year, the school has worked with units: Lower, Middle and Upper school, in which children of different ages learn together based on level, subject or interest. Teachers are jointly responsible for a larger group of children and increasingly develop from teacher into coach and guide.
The school's core words are Engaged, Motivated, Eager to learn, Reflective and Responsible.
