Daltonschool Honselersdijk

How we work

Daltonschool Honselersdijk is located in the middle of the village, close to the sports fields, in a wide school building it shares with a childcare centre. It is a small-scale Dalton school with a spacious hall, a large gym and a pleasant schoolyard, where children learn to work independently and play together, in a familiar and warm atmosphere.

Daltonschool Honselersdijk has been a certified Dalton school since May 2007 and works from five core values: responsibility, independence, collaboration, effectiveness and reflection. Alongside maths and language, children also learn to make their own choices and account for their work, in the classroom, in the quiet room or at the workstations in the hall.

The school is part of Stichting West Openbaar Onderwijs, guided by the core values trust, togetherness and inspiration. Together with the childcare centre, the school forms a child centre, so childcare and education come together in one location. There is a dedicated 3D room for technology and inquiry-based learning, and the school works with a programme for a positive school climate, aimed at a safe and pleasant atmosphere for every child.

As a training school, the school works together with The Hague University of Applied Sciences to train new teachers. The school's motto is getting the best out of yourself, together, reflected in the way teachers and children interact with each other, aimed at growth and self-confidence.
